iPhone 4 selling out quick, new ship date now July 14

iPhone 4 pre-order ship dates have now been pushed back to July 14th. This launch is looking to be as big or bigger than the original and 3G launch. What is causing this spike in interest for the 4th generation iPhone?
Here are my guesses:
- more and more people are being introduced to the iPhone
- lots of full discount eligible 3G owners and 3GS owners as well with the generous upgrade policy AT&T has put into place
- iPhone 4 is just that much better than all the iPhones and other computer phones before it
No matter what the reason, this is going to be big!
Oh, and somehow Jesus Diaz from Gizmodo thinks this is a disaster. A disaster from who? Nokia? Google? RIM?
