voice commands coming to iPhone?
by Justin Horn on Oct 9th, 2008 @ 1:00 pmMacNN is reporting that apple has filed a patent application for voice commands for the iPhone, iPod, and apple tv. This would be a great feature to add espeically to the iPhone since many other phones that are less advanced than the iPhone have this feature. Not sure when we would see this, but it will definetley help apple stay one step of all the “iPhone killers” out there.
Voice recogniation has been around for a while now, but in the last few years they seem to be making huge advances. So it’s good to see apple, masters of the user interface, really diving into this human-machine interaction as well. With advances in multitouch screens and voice commands over the next few years this is really going to change how we interact with machines in all areas of technology…and I can’t wait!

I wonder if that patent is coming from IBM. “Contact”.. “Contact”.. Contact”.. “dammit Contact”. Machine: Who!?
