iPhone still slow after 2.0.1 firmware update
by Justin Horn on Aug 14th, 2008 @ 7:32 pmRight after the update it seemed to get better, but I have noticed keyboard slow downs again in different areas of my iPhone 3g. Also, as I stated in my earlier post my backup is now painfully slow and was never that bad prior to 2.0.0 firmware. Besides the backup issue, I don’t think my iPhone is any worse off and probably a little more stable with the 2.0.1 update than it was before on the 2.0.0. So I’m back to waiting for 2.1 firmware which should hopefully have a lot more bug fixes as well as some new features! One good thing is I’ve had pretty good look with 3g connection and speeds most of the time.
A summary of issues I have still on 2.0.1:
1 – Slow keyboard in text, safari, and other apps (which could be the apps themselves)
2 – Safari also seems to be crashing a lot and returning me to the home screen
3 – Contacts slow (although I’m doing exchange so not sure if I will always see a delay even if the firmware was perfect)
4 – General sluggishness when navigating around the iPhone

I have experienced some keyboard problems too… it only happens when I’m typing a sms though…
