iPhone developer Dan Grigsby says goodbye to iPhone development

by Justin Horn on Apr 9th, 2010 @ 1:28 pm

Dan Grigsby is an iPhone developer and runs the website Mobile Orchard with in depth information on iPhone develop. Both the development and the website are coming to an end. The main reasons for Dan stepping away:

Ask permission environments crush creativity and innovation. In healthy environments, when would-be innovators/creators identify opportunities the only thing that stands between the idea and its realization is work. In the iPhone OS environment when you see an opportunity, you put in work first, ask Appleā€™s permission and then, only after gaining their approval, your idea can be realized.

If this sounds familiar you’ll recall Joe Hewitt’s, developer of the facebook app, stopped developing for iPhone for similar reason.
