iPhone OS 4 typo restore and spell checker
by Justin Horn on Apr 8th, 2010 @ 5:20 pmHave you ever made a “typo”, but meant to do it? You were typing so fast that you didn’t click the correction bubble’s X and now your word is all correctly spelled! Now in iPhone OS 4.0 you can just backspace once and you get a popup showing you your typo, just tap the bubble and your problems are solved!
Also included in 4.0 (as expected) is an iPad like spell checker that goes beyond the normal auto correction. Tap a word that is underlined in red to get the correction bubble, which looks similar to the cup / copy / paste, not the normal auto correct.

Finally! Someone who understands the important things in life!
A typing feature I’m REALLY hoping for (and hopfully you can verify it) is auto correct while cap locked or when shift is tapped mid sentence. Has this been fixed yet?
Also, when you attempt to type Blu-ray, do you have to add the hyphen yourself?
AND if Blu-ray is not auto corrected, if you type it, including the capital b, will the phone remember it the next time you try?
There is no auto correction for caps, but the spell check still comes into play. You can tap the word or backspace to it and it will popup the correction.
For bluray, it still seems to work the same.
Thanks for the response.
Love the idea of a CUP / copy / paste bubble in an article on dealing with typos
