Apple just finished releasing iPhone 3.0 firmware along with the new shortly there after iPhone 3GS just a couple weeks ago and now iPhone 3.1 beta 1 has already been released to developers. Take your best guess for the public release date now for a chance to win a $50 iTunes or Apple store gift card.

My guess is sometime around the release date of Snow Leopard in September. Probably the 28th.

Not likely it’ll be released in September it’s not a major firmware like 3.0. My guess is July 15.
I read somewhere that apple will release the firmware in mid July. I read this fact in an interview with someone from Apple; I can’t remember. Regardless, the fact was a direct quotation from him, but I don’t remember where I read this interview. I believe it might be Macrumors.com or maybe the rss feed on my iphone. Anyway, my comment proves Aseemit and Zack right. Apple isn’t going to release 3.1 with SL. That would be so rediculous and the only reason they are even releasing a 3.1 is to mainly increase the selling of iphone 3GS stock and to fix some bugs in the Iphone 3GS models. That’s my piece of knowledge for today bros. Peace!

I’m willing to bet it gets dropped the same day that the new iPod touch comes out. Which is rumored to be sometime around September.
The 3.1software will be released to the public on august 21 is my best guess

it is definetly September 25th, 2009. kinda funny how we guess when we get a basic element added to our phones that even a $50 dollar phone has the day it is released.
