New iPhone to have improved battery life, says Gruber
by Justin Horn on Jun 8th, 2009 @ 10:52 amA few weeks ago Gruber posted his Next iPhone predictions and I agreed with most of them, but I disagreed with his “would wager a sandwich upon” on improved battery life:
This is pretty much in line with the general exceptions and rumors. I would personally bet more than a sandwich upon improved battery life as Apple is very concerned with battery life on the iPhone and MacBooks. Even some of the latest MacBooks are sporting a non-removable battery that gives the user up to 8 hours of use! Besides an improved battery the CPU and RAM, although faster, could actually use less power.
Now in Gruber’s WWDC 2009 predictions he has changed his tune on iPhone battery life:
The other new tidbit is battery life: 15-20 percent longer than the iPhone 3G.
Gruber’s “predictions”, especially the last minute ones, are usually very, very accurate as most people agree he has some inside info. He also brings up a code name or possibly the official next gen iPhone name, iPhone 3GS…he has no idea on what the “S” is for.
