iPhone App Devs to help test push servers
by Chiyin on May 18th, 2009 @ 3:53 pmThe development program just sent out an email asking developers actively testing iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5 to help test the push notification service. For this purpose they have selected a pre-release app that uses the push notification for developers to install and help test the service…
From the email:
As a developer actively working with iPhone OS 3.0 beta, we would like your help in testing the Apple Push Notification service. We have selected a pre-release version of the Associated Press app for iPhone OS 3.0 to create a high-volume test environment for our servers.
Looks like the update is just around the corner… with this dressed rehearsal and whatnot…

Got my first push notification. Came in similar to how the text looks along with a special sound which must be a sound that is part of the application.
