Small Talk, Apple releases a new 4GB talking Shuffle
by Justin Horn on Mar 11th, 2009 @ 9:02 amApple has finally updated the Shuffle which hasn’t been updated in a while except for some color and price changes. The new shuffle can:
Introducing VoiceOver,2 the feature that gives iPod shuffle a voice. With the press of a button, it tells you what song is playing and who’s performing it. It can even tell you the names of your playlists, giving you a new way to navigate your music.
They have bumped the storage to 4GB and also removed all buttons from the device and moved the controls to the headphone wire. This thing looks really small and coming in at $79 it’s a pretty good deal.
I’d also like to point out that John Gruber from Daring Fireball just predicted this a couple weeks ago (Lost in the Shuffle / Talking to Your iPod). I don’t know how he does it, but he’s right a lot more times than wrong. Although it is ironic that he dismissed the rumors of the original Shuffle itself before it was first introduced.

Lol… damn apple is smart … removing all the buttons, so now when you lose and/or break them you have to go fork the money to go buy a new pair, which will probably cost you an arm and a leg… Right now the replacement headphones without any of these new features cost about 30-40 (here in Canada)… I wonder how much these will go for?
