If only this was actually the new 3rd gen iPhone

by Justin Horn on Feb 19th, 2009 @ 1:03 pm

9to5Mac has posted some concept art for a possible future iPhone. I highly doubt we’ll see anything in this ballpark yet, but it’s nice to imagine one day having a device like this.

It offers you the full protection of a hard-shell case while providing virtually twice the battery life of the iPhone alone; all in an ultra-thin, light-weight, low-profile design.

• The world’s thinnest Apple certified “Works With iPhone” external battery in the world!
• Rechargeable 1200mAh lithium polymer battery virtually doubles your time to rock, talk, surf and send.
• Pass-through USB charging and sync with iTunes
• Extended smart battery and full case protection

Microsoft to copy Apple’s retail success with it’s own retail stores

by Justin Horn on Feb 13th, 2009 @ 11:51 am

Microsoft has been playing catch up to Apple for the last couple years with all of Apple’s successes. For example every new version of the Windows OS looks more and more like OSX. The next Windows version currently in beta now has a dock that works similar to the OSX dock.

Well now CNN Money is reporting that Microsoft has decided to open retail stores:

On Thursday, Microsoft confirmed long-rumored plans to launch retail stores, a move underscoring the challenges the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant faces in the way it reaches consumers.

“We’re working hard to transform the PC and Microsoft buying experience at retail by improving the articulation and demonstration of the Microsoft innovation and value proposition so that it’s clear, simple and straightforward for consumers everywhere,” Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner said in a press statement.

Can’t wait to visit a store with my Macbook and iPhone and use their wifi like this PC punk during my visit to the Denver Apple Store :)
