Apple’s next-gen Macs have something special under the hood
by Justin Horn on Jul 29th, 2008 @ 1:05 am“A new generation of personal computers on the way from Apple Inc. may sport some of the most significant architectural changes since the Mac maker made the jump from PowerPC processors to those manufactured by Intel Corp., AppleInsider has learned.”
The macbook refresh stories are starting to heat up, I think this will be the next big thing to keep an eye on. If you haven’t already make your guess as to when you think the new macbook refresh will take place.

is your screen yellowish?
by Chiyin on Jul 28th, 2008 @ 3:08 pmok there has been talks about the screen tint since the first day the phone came out… I couldn’t tell the difference until I put it side by side with the first gen iPhone… there are also talks about a firmware update that fixes this, but I haven’t seen how or where I can do this update… if anyone knows how to do this, please let me know… I don’t think it’s a big deal, but if there is an update I wouldn’t mind having it…

sub $1000 macbooks?
by Chiyin on Jul 25th, 2008 @ 11:04 amcould the “product transition” be the repricing of the macbook series to start at less than $1000? this is what a couple of articles over at arstechnica and appleinsider are saying…
some analyst are suggesting that apple might not include an optical drive in the new macbook to lower the cost… this move would follow the footstep of the macbook air which shipped without an optical drive… with increasingly more software and content being downloaded directly it’s not a crazy idea to forgo the optical drive altogether…

connect to your computer remotely…
by Chiyin on Jul 17th, 2008 @ 1:40 pmmany of you may already have seen this app, VNC Mocha Lite… it is an app that lets you connect remotely to your computers… all you need is a VNC server on your machine….
for mac os x users you need to enable the remote management in the settings and set a password to let users control the computer remotely…
if you are on a windows machine you can use tightvnc… it even works on vista…
very impressed with this app… it’s easy to setup, works pretty well, and it’s free…
