Tell us when you think the next gen iPhone will come out

Well, we haven’t, but our contests are now open to our friends up north, across the pond, and down under (more info). Oh, and we are still waiting for someone to buy us a beer… maybe a nice hefe from Deutschland? a pint from the UK? a labatt from our neighbors? a frosty mug of foster?

When Will Apple was started back in April of 2008 to see when everyone thought the 2nd generation iPhone (iPhone 3g) would be released and now the time has come to vote on when the next gen iPhone will be released. In honor of this event we have decided to kick this poll up a notch in the prize department! The winner of this poll will get their hands on a brand new third-generation iPhone1. Due to the awesomeness (and expensiveness) of this prize and the fact we don’t have any sponsors Chiyin and I have had to give up drinking and are down to 1 meal a day. So if anyone wants to send us some burgers (boca burgers for Chiyin) and beer it would help keep us alive to bring you even more polls in the future!
The rumors of this new 3rd gen iPhone, yet to be named, have started to pop up on various websites and are pointing to a midyear release…yeah yeah, big surprise there right? The new iPhone will most likely run on the 3G network so talk of the name being iPhone 4G are probably wrong since it is neither the 4th generation iPhone or running on a 4G network. A more likely name (just our rampant speculation at When Will Apple) will be along the lines of iPhone 3g Pro, iPhone 3G 2, or iPhone 3 (for 3rd generation iPhone, not the carrier network).
So when is the new iPhone coming out? …take your guess now so you can take one home on our tab!

i would say the next iphone will be released july 15th 2009 since the iphone 3g came out on july 11th 2008 i own a iphone 3g and i love it and hoping i would pick up a new new this summer
i picked july 11, because thats when the official launched date of the iphone 3g and i thought they would launch it again on the same day.

Apple has down the announce and release trick with some of their products, but the iPhone has not been one of them. Last year the iPhone 3G was announced at the WWDC and then released about a month later in July. WWDC 2009 is coming up in 2 weeks so the poll might be over as early as June 8th. I’m hoping it works like this so we have time to ship out the prize money to the lucky winner so he or she can use it to purchase their new 3rd gen iPhone!

July 3rd. ATT says they’re discounting the 2nd 3G iPhones on July 1st and the previous release days were on a Friday.
I say July 24th. I’m not going to disclose my reasoning, because I’m THAT confident I’m right. I’ll let you know after I’m right.

I have been TOLD bi mi comp teacher at school that is friends with Apple specialits that it will cone out in June 7th 9th or 12th
It will be announced June 8th and available July 17th !
I picked June 29th because that’s when the 1st ipod released and it’s my birthday. It’ll make a great birthday present if I’m right.
