UPDATE Looks like the interview got bumped last min, I’ll update this post when I Air-O-Matic gets a new date. If you are interested in knowing when this “should” be airing the best way will be to follow our updates on Twitter or Facebook.
The fart apps were probably the first well known case of apps getting declined access to the iTunes App Store shelves way back when. Then things seemed to settle down while the developers were farting all the way to the bank. Well, you may or may not have heard that the two big names in fart have been feuding over naming rights this year. From CNET News article few months ago:
Air-O-Matic had also complained to Apple that InfoMedia was guilty of unfair business practices and trademark infringement because it used the term “pull my finger” in a news release and YouTube promo video. Air-O-Matic also asked that iFart Mobile be removed from the iPhone App Store, but Apple told the companies to work it out among themselves.
Air-O-Matic has just posted on their company blog that the whole argument will be discussed on my favorite place to get news, The Daily Show, tonight:
They interview both sides (Pull My Finger, and iFart Mobile) and inject their own opinion on the case. I’m sure we’ll be skewered (can’t say that I blame them…) Insiders tell me that Sam Waterson (of Law and Order fame) may be in on it.
I think the whole thing is pretty ridiculous, but still pretty damn funny if you ask me! Should be interesting to hear Jon Stewart’s take on the whole thing.
