MacBook as a media hub via Mini DisplayPort to HDMI
by Justin Horn on Feb 24th, 2009 @ 3:56 pmIn the last week or so I’ve been reading up on the new Mini DisplayPort included on the new MacBooks. I was thinking how great it would be to use my new MacBook as portable media hub that could easily be hooked up with one cable to any TV in my or a friends house. Even better I could use my iPhone as a remote!
It looks like my dreams have been answered by Monoprice.com! …well almost. Looks like they will not be availble until March 15, but that isn’t too far away. The adapter come in at only $14.25 which isn’t bad at all. Keep in mind though that this is just an adapter, so if you don’t already have an HDMI cable handy you’ll need to pick one up as well for about $5.
Check back in a few weeks for my review of this setup.
