iPhone A-GPS assisted by driving directions

by Justin Horn on Aug 29th, 2008 @ 2:03 pm

I know this isn’t earth shattering news, but found it interesting enough that I thought someone out there in the world would agree.  When driving home from the University of Miami (go canes!) season opener last night I put in driving directions back to the house. When viewing the GPS blue dot on the search it was very close, but on the wrong side of the road and had the halo of error covering both sides of the road and then some. I then switched over to the driving directions with the nice purple brick road to follow. I noticed that the blue dot moved over to the correct side of the road and the halo of error was gone. So I guess this adds another assistant to the A in A-GPS. Pictures after the break

iPhone is the mobile internet, even bank of america thinks so!

by Justin Horn on Aug 25th, 2008 @ 2:33 pm

iTunes subscription for september?

by Chiyin on Aug 22nd, 2008 @ 9:50 am

The rumor of an iTunes subscription service has been around for a long time… But recent reports are indicating that it might become a reality this September and with a very good price to boot. One of the report is saying that half of the iTunes catalog will be available and most of sites are saying that the price will be of $129 a year. That’s less than $11 a month, not a bad price. Could this be the surprise announcement Apple has under it’s sleeve for September? Were we too sweept up with the notion of shiny new computers that we negleted to think this could be the surprise? I think we did…

iPod scheme at UM

by Chiyin on Aug 21st, 2008 @ 10:21 am

Ok, this has nothing to do with new Apple releases but it involves iPods and my alma mater. CNN reported on Wednesday a story about a University of Miami alum’s scam. This scumbag used the university’s name and installation to pitch his scheme. I just hate to see people like this tarnishing the name of my University…
