blackberry bringing the thunder?
by Chiyin on May 17th, 2008 @ 6:53 pmblackberry is following in the footsteps of apple and is releasing a new touchscreen phone. they are even following suit with the exclusive carrier deal, in this case Verizon for the US and Vodafone abroad. it’s going to be interesting to see how it compares to the iphone when it comes out in the third quarter… hopefully by then we’ll be using our 3g iphones…

AT&T to boost 3G speeds more than fivefold by 2009

AT&T said Wednesday it plans to boost the speed of its 3G wireless network to speeds of 20 megabits per second in 2009, paving the way for over-the-air downloads that are more than five times faster than what customers can achieve today.

Apple’s stock is likely to go higher than expected based on a spate of iPhone agreements the company has forged, says analyst Shaw Wu of American Technology Research. Wu in fact suggests that the potential market could “more than triple” in 2008, from 150 million people to approximately 470 million.

iphone’s new capabilities?
by Chiyin on May 14th, 2008 @ 10:56 amsome rumors coming out of Europe suggest that the new version will feature some new capabilities. according to a post on Computer World citing a Swiss news site new phones will sport a faster processor, have GPS capability, and perhaps live TV. the rumor goes on to say that Vodafone is getting ready to roll out a live TV service for when it becomes available. that would be awesome, watching live tv. now we just need to know when it will be out, so we can camp out the store and be the first one to get it… yeah…

att listing a new iphone?

I have not been able to confirm the listing on AT&T’s site, but will do so later today…
