MacBook Touch leaked in shot of website?

by Chiyin on Aug 19th, 2009 @ 1:49 pm

MacBook Touch?

From Touch User Guide, a self proclaimed “ultimate guide to the Apple Tablet”, comes this picture of a screen showing the Apple website homepage with the rumored tablet computer. An interesting thing about this image is at the top where it says “iPhone Apps & OS X living in perfect harmony.” Apparently whomever made this mock screen thinks the tablet will behave as an extra large iPhone running OS X. Now, I say this is a mock screen because I don’t think Apple will let something as big as this slip out into the public.

The image has also sparked a debate among ourselves here at When Will Apple? On one hand Justin thinks it’s fake because the word “touch” in the name is capitalized, his logic is that the iPod touch doesn’t have the capital “T”. I’m not so sure about that though, since Apple naming convention for MacBooks do have capitalized letters, MacBook Pro / MacBook Air. But in both cases our guess for the name seems to be on target.

The question is when will it come? Tell us if you know

Snow Leopard Gold Master leaked…

by Chiyin on Aug 13th, 2009 @ 12:50 pm

OS X Snow Leopard 10A432 Screenshot

Thanks to a tip from a reader, it has come to our attention that Mac OS X Snow Leopard has reached Gold Master status and somehow got leaked… According to Mac4Ever (found through Redmond Pie via Mac Rumors) the leaked build is 10A432 which they are saying is the final version. This seems plausible as we are in mid August and the release is scheduled for sometime in September.

Now, we are not sure if the leaked file is the real thing or not…  I wouldn’t download it, but if you insist in doing it here is the link our tipster sent us… Do it at your own risk… But come on, don’t be a cheapass Snow Leopard is retailing for $29… Just wait for it…

Last minute WWDC 2009 guesses

by Justin Horn on Jun 8th, 2009 @ 11:15 am

Just wanted to sum up my guesses so it’s easier to see how much I get wrong.

Steve Jobs

  • Will not make an appearance via video or any other means, although they will probably discuss his health improvement and that he is going to return to Apple as planned in late June.

Release Dates

  • iPhone 3.0 firmware released today June 8th after keynote. With iTunes 8.2 being released (with it’s biggest feature being able to work with iPhone 3.0) last week it seems more likely than ever we won’t have to wait for the 3rd gen iPhone to get 3.0. I don’t think it’s because Apple doesn’t want to be over loaded on 3rd gen release day, but more of a response to the Pre.
  • 3rd gen iPhone release date announced for later date, my guess…July 10th.
  • Snow Leopard release date announced for some time in August.

3rd gen hardware

  • Improved battery life – Yes, see recent post on this
  • Compass – Yes
  • Auto focus 3.2MP camera – Yes
  • Front facing camera – No
  • Video recording / editing – Yes
  • 4GB through 32 GB version – No, but I do think as I’ve said before the current 8GB will stay put and drop to $99, while the new iPhone will hold the same $199 / $299 pricing at 16GB / 32GB and both sizes coming in black or white.
  • 3.5G (7.2Mbps) – Yes
  • Matte / more rubbery back – Yes

iTablet

  • Not going to hear anything about this even though this time around the rumors seem more legit.

UPDATE 11:54AM EST
One more crazy thing I’d like to add. How about an iTunes App Store for Macs?
