AppleCares about my cracking macbook

Apparently I’m among the lucky, or rather unlucky, ones to have a cracking MacBook… At first I thought it was a somewhat isolated case, but it seems that it’s a big problem among white MacBooks if apple is addressing the issue the way they are now… For me the casing cracked along the bottom edge of the computer, right where the speakers are… And this is my story…

PC gets booed off Late Night

Yes, I’m writing another post on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but I thought it was funny enough. Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht from Diggnation appeared on Wednesday night’s episode. The fun started when they did mock diggnation on Late Night and eveyone, but Alex has a MacBook. When the audience was asked how they like Macs there was a roar, but when asked about the PC it was pretty quiet until the boos started flying.

Apple’s rumored March 24th event for Snow Leopard?

The rumors over the weekend discussing a March 24th Apple event for new iMacs, Minis, and Pros are now obviously not true with the release of these new Macs today. I’m not surprised that the new Macs came out with little fanfare from Apple as they are just hardware bumps. Lately it looks like Apple only throws events for major product updates, like the move to a full aluminum unibody MacBook line, which makes a lot of sense.

So even though this rumored March 24th event won’t be for the new Macs, I haven’t totally thrown out the rumor. I now believe if this event does happen it will cover the release Snow Leopard. This fits with Apple’s recent event history as Snow Leopard is going to be a big deal for Apple just as Windows 7 will be for Microsoft. There have been numerous reports of Apple putting the final touches on Snow Leopard the last few months. Also, the latest rumors still point to a first half of 2009 release…late March seems to fit perfect with those rumors.

4 New Core 2 Duo iMacs ranging from $1,199.00 to $2,199.00.

2 New Mac Minis coming in at $599 and $799. They include the new nVidia 9400M found in the latest MacBooks.

2 New Mac Pros coming in at $2,499 and $3,299. These guys have the latest Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processors.

iMac refresh coming out sooner rather than later?

MacNN is reporting:

Existing models of the computer are said to be in low supply with resellers, and Apple educational salesmen are reportedly being given the go-ahead to offer special discounts. An image has also been leaked of new marketing material, which touts NVIDIA graphics for both 20- and 24-inch sizes.
