at&t allows some iPhone 3G customers to upgrade early at full discount
by Justin Horn on Jun 17th, 2009 @ 2:05 pmWith all the negative (unwarranted) feedback at&t has been getting from customers, they have responded in a very positive way! At&t just posted “an update for our customers” which explains the upgrade process for iPhone 3G oweners and the new policy:
We’re now pleased to offer our iPhone 3G customers who are upgrade eligible in July, August or September 2009 our best upgrade pricing, beginning Thursday, June 18.
This won’t help the average 3G owner even if they bought the phone on July 11th last year since the average user’s monthly bill makes them upgrade elgible in December 2009 (read more about monthly bill and upgrade eligibility). For those of you, like me, that have a bill of $100 or more you should have an eligble date 12 months from purchase which means if you purhased by September of 2009 you can upgrade to the iPhone 3G S on June 19th for the full discount!
Thanks at&t!
